Scentless Apprentice

Morning,

We popped out to the acoustic night at The Horseshoe last night so feeling a little fuzzy this morning. That, and the killer hayfever.

We now have the Yumi Xaviera Parrot Sun Dress back in stock in size S/M in Navy, so if you've been looking out for one of those, make sure you make it yours!

Pick Of The Day today is this Nag Champa Incense, £2.00, from our ethically traded range. It's great for chilling out and scenting your home from one of the biggest brands. You get loads in a box, so your £2 goes a long way!

Have a great day!

Each Man Kills The Thing He Loves

Morning,

Quite like it when it rains, gives me an excuse to use my Audrey Hepburn umbrella. They're currently out of stock, but I will let you know when we get them back in. As it's Retro-Beat tonight at The Horseshoe down the road, with The Francis Jetty playing live, I'm tempted to treat myself to a new dress. I'm thinking of going for the Yumi Meila Lace Tea Dress, but I'm not sure which colour to choose. If you have any ideas, let us know on our Twitter account. I think I'm going to have to try them all on to see. It's a hard life! :)

Make sure you grab a copy of the Northants Evening Telegraph if you're in the area on Monday. Check out their fantastic fashion, beauty and shopping section, Spree, and look out for our fantastic new advert, showing our artist and model Rebecca in the Yumi Xaviera Parrot Sun Dress in beige. Cut out the advert and bring it in to receive 10% off all Yumi clothes!

Pick Of The Day today is this Ethically Traded 'Better To Have Loved And Lost' Retro Metal Sign, £7.00. It features the wise words 'It's better to have loved and lost than to live with the psycho for the rest of your life'. Admit it, if you don't need this sign, you certainly know someone who does! It features a retro fifties housewife image, and comes with the wire attached ready to hang. A great gift for yourself, or a recently single friend (maybe use your discretion on that one!).

Have a great weekend!

Ashes To Ashes

Morning,

Had a great weekend. The Unorthodox team were out in force for The Horseshoe's first Comedy Night on Sunday, which was fantastic. Oh, and it was my birthday. I don't feel any older, yet, though. Which is nice.

Audrey Hepburn umbrellas are selling fast (the weather is probably helping!) so if you want to stay dry in the most stylish way possible, make one yours today!

We had a great photo shoot on Saturday with the new Yumi pieces. Local artist Rebecca Sturdgess modelled for us (we have lots of her art in stock, so check that out), and she did a fantastic job. Our resident photographer Brian Chapman of Brian Chapman Photography was running the show, and it was great fun. Loved seeing the Yumi pieces being worn. Once the photos are ready, we'll have them up on our Facebook page, and you'll be able to see them on the Yumi item pages when they're on the online shop.

Pick Of The Day today is this Spiral Direct Phoenix Rising T-Shirt because we only have one left! It's 100% and features the fantastic prints Spiral are famous for. There's an awesome back print too, so you're getting your money's worth! We're gradually cutting down on our menswear, so grab a piece of history!

View and order the Spiral Direct Phoenix Rising T-Shirt on our online shop.

Have a great week!

Everything In It's Lace

Morning,

It's Saturday! Ok, so it's raining, but still feeling the weekend joy. We have our photographer Brian Chapman coming in later to photograph the new Yumi pieces, which should be fun. Also, finally sorted my hair out which is now black with Stargazer Violet Hair Colour through the fringe and front. Big thank you to our model Tahnee for sorting that out! Also, it's my birthday tomorrow, so looking forward to comedy night at The Horseshoe down the road.

Have also started reading Edward Hogan's The Hunger Trace so will report back if it's any good.

Pick Of The Day is this gorgeous Max C London Bow Lace Dress in cream. It has ribbon trim around the arms and neckline, the bow detail, and a crocheted floral top layer. It also has the distinctive bubble hem that Max C love so much. All in all, it's a gorgeous piece, and it's now in our sale, reduced from £45 to only £30!

View and order the Max C Bow Lace Dress on our online shop.

Have a great weekend, and come check out our new Spring/Summer range if you're in town!

It Takes A Village

Morning,

We've restocked our Stargazer Glitter Shakers down the road at The Horseshoe Inn so this weekends revellers can cover themselves in sparkliness. They're available behind the bar for the usual £3.00. There are also some Stargazer Neon Gel Colours available there too, as well as in the shop and online.

Pick Of The Day today is one of our beautiful pieces of signed original artwork by Pippa Alice. This one is called The Village and shows that whilst she's an amazing artist, I'm not sure what Pippa would be like as an architect! An original one-off, this little piece is on handmade recycled cotton rag paper, and is small enough to brighten any little space. Great as a gift that's easily mailed, or as a treat for yourself.

Have a great weekend!

TGIF

Morning,

Yay! Sunshine! I can have the door of the shop open without freezing! Although it does let in the noise from the roadworks, but I can drown that out with the music.

I've had quite a few enquiries in regards to bigger sizes. Currently, these seem quite readily available in the men's clothes and the t-shirts we stock, but not in some of the other lines. Currently, Max C only go up to a UK size 14 but some of the styles mean they may fit someone slightly larger, whilst the Death Kitty items tend to be marked in small, medium or large or s/m and m/l. The large size appears again to be about a 14, although this does depend on the style of the item. We have a changing room and people are encouraged to try anything on if they are unsure. You never know! As it is frequently reported that the average size for a woman in the UK is a 16, I am eager to cater for as many people as possible and have found labels that do bigger size ranges, and hope to have more of these in stock in the future (but as there is not unlimited space or money, this cannot be arranged instantly). So please bear with me, and I will try to provide our customers with what they want.

Tomorrow sees the launch of the Cityscapes artwork we have in from Louise Berrill, and I will write more about that then. For today, our pick of the day is this Max C navy blue dress. Blues are all over the place this summer, as part of the nautical look, so this dress with the white trim is perfect. It also reminds me of Alice In Wonderland so it ties in nicely with the recent Tim Burton adaptation, and would look great with one of the Temporary:Secretary 'Alice' necklaces.

Anyway, hope you enjoy your weekend. We're open tomorrow, then I'm popping down the road to The Horseshoe to see their new refurb. They're relaunching tonight, but someone has to be here looking bright eyed and bushy tailed at 9am so think I might miss that! So if you're in Wellingborough, well worth checking it out.
