Can't Buy Me Love

Morning,

Well, got quite a few of our new items up on the online shop yesterday, and going to try to get the rest up today. These new items are from an ethical trading company. Set up originally as a Buddhist organisation, they source products from around the world making sure the conditions and pay are fair, and put their profits back into projects in those communities. So not only do you have the chance to own some lovely things, you can feel all warm and fuzzy about it too. We focused on putting up the things for your home yesterday, and today we'll get all the new bags and accessories on there.

New items include:

Nag Champa Incense
Elephant Rainbow Incense Set
'Better To Have Loved And Lost...' Retro Metal Sign
'I Smile Because...' Retro Metal Sign
'Money Can't Buy Happiness' Retro Metal Sign
Indian Glitz Heart Trinket Box

Pick Of The Day is one of our new retro-inspired metal signs. This one reads 'People who say money can't buy happiness obviously don't know where to shop'. Might be our new motto! We have a few designs of these signs in, and we think they're fantastic, right down to the distressed look, 50's influenced graphics, and witty statements. They come with the wire, ready to hang. This one is a perfect gift for the shopper in your life (or just keep it for yourself!).

It's Friday! Any exciting plans?

E-Bow

Morning,

Just a reminder that we will be running a special offer for our Facebook followers once we reach 350 on there, so if you haven't already, head over to our Facebook page.

Our Special Evening cocktail, prom and evening dresses are now on the online shop. Check out the Special Evening section.

Pick Of The Day today is this gorgeous cream Max C London dress. The shape gives it a bit of a retro 60's/mod look, whilst the floral lace out later is very vintage. It's in our sale, and these are the last few so when they're gone they're gone! It's a beautiful dress for the party season, maybe with some leggings and a shrug, and great for showing off your tan in the summer. Fully lined, it's elasticated under the bust, and has the distinctive Max C bubble hemline.

They're predicting rain so quite glad the shop is quite far up the hill!

Vamping It Up

Morning,

We're thinking of running a special offer next week. Head over to our Facebook page to suggest what you'd like to see on offer.

As there is a touch of sunshine in the vicinity of the shop today, I thought this little vest top should be pick of the day. It's by Death Kitty, and it's a Vampette tie-up halterneck. The back laces up corset-style with neon green strings, so it's a one-size-fits-most piece. I love the retro B-movie style graphics on the front! A vest with bite, but at £12.50 it's not got a sting! Hmm... too much coffee on a Saturday morning can lead to some very odd metaphores!

Have a good weekend, and if you're stuck for anything to wear, just pop in or give us a call!

Retro Chic

Morning,

Despite the fact it looks like a bomb went off outside where they have dug up the pavement, we are open! You just have to go over a little makeshift ramp to get in the door. We're sorry for the inconvenience and hopefully it'll all be over soon and we'll have a lovely new pavement.

Pick of the Day today is our Maddie 60s Shopper. We have a few of these in stock, and as they are handmade, each one is different. We have them in a selection of patterns and colours but all are deliciously retro. All Maddie accessories are made locally so you're supporting local crafts as well! These shoppers are big enough for all your essentials and are only £15 each.

Hope you're all having a good week!

50s Chick

Morning,

Our new Death Kitty stock is out on the racks now. We now have their Nautical Star bags, Vampette skirts, Vampette dresses, Vampette vests, and Skull Bow t-shirts. As always, I'm really chuffed with them! It's also worth noting that Death Kitty are a company that try to produce as much of their stuff as possible in the UK, only outsourcing a small amount to China, in order to both support UK industry and minimise the environmental issues that are currently effecting manufacturing areas in China. They are also all round nice people. :)

Obviously our pick of the day was going to be one of our new Death Kitty pieces. This is the 'Vampette' dress. It's a 50's style halterneck in 100% cotton (so it's perfect for the hot weather!) and has this distinctive retro/vampire print that DK have just started using. All in all, it's a lovely Summer dress with a bit of a twist. Plus, not only does cotton help keep you cool, the white background goes great with a bit of a tan! As always, we have only got a limited number of these in to help keep you looking individual, so hurry down!

If this dress is a bit 'out there' for you, keep your eyes peeled for the new Max C summer dresses we're getting in soon. Or why not browse the Max C and Iska dresses we have in now?

The Harder They Come

Morning all. Started today with the Marina & The Diamonds album on in the shop, which has just finished so now eating Tic Tacs. Not a bad start to the week.

We had a great day Saturday, so thanks to everyone who bought things, came in to browse, or just popped in to say 'hi'. Always appreciate it! The Max C dresses seemed very popular with the weekend crowd! Saturday also saw the arrival of some more pieces by Maddie, so we also have some very kitsch furry zebra print cushions in (handmade, no less).

Today's pick of the day is this Worn Free Jimmy Cliff 'The Harder They Come' t-shirt. We have it in a range of sizes. As well as the ubiquitous Worn Free tag, it has a fantastic 70s retro print of some of the original artwork for the film.

Hope your Monday is going well!
