Rude Boy

Morning,

Due to a variety of exciting technical difficulties, we didn't get our Pick Of The Day done yesterday, so it's rolling over to today.

Our Pick Of The Day is the debut album by Karl Phillips & The Midnight Ramblers, out on Medical Records. They're a Wellingborough based band, but this album has been getting great reviews all over the country, and they're fresh from their recent gig at Proud in Camden. Best described as a mix of hip hop, ska, indie and rock (which really doesn't give you much of an idea, so you'll just have to buy it and have a listen). The lyrics have humour and edge in equal measure, and you're bound to find something you can relate to in it.

Have a great weekend!

Bank Holiday Blues

Morning,

So did everyone have a good bank holiday? I may have overindulged a little so suffering today! Still, I'm here for all of your fashion needs so pop in, or if you see anything you like online, give us a call and we'll send it out to you. Website is almost ready so that will make it even easier for those of you too far away from the shop.

Went to the bank holiday mini fest down the road at The Horseshoe Inn yesterday and caught some great local bands, Those Without Sin, The Tea Rooms, The Transmission, Ali Blake, and The Liabilities. What's more, The Liabilities frontman (and Unorthodox model) Steve was wearing one of our Worn Free John Lennon New York City t-shirts and looked great. We also got a shout out from sound man/DJ Mutley, so all in all, a good night! For those who are in the area, and fancy checking out some good music, Retrobeat is at the Horseshoe on Saturday 18th September, with Leeds band We Sell Seashells, and DJs including yours truly.

Pick Of The Day is this RedRock Fashion brown bleach out tunic vest. RedRock have their first Brick Lane show coming up soon, so get in there now and own something by this up and coming label. This top is only £22, and is really flattering. The bleached out effect makes it really stand out (bleaching, it's like tie-dying but with balls!). They come in Small, Medium and Large, and we only have a limited number in stock at the moment so grab them while you can!

Hope you've not got the bank holiday blues about going back to work, but if you do, retail therapy might be in order!

Come on England!

Morning,

Chilling out in the shop this morning, listening to The Freshies and eating Haribo. We will be open during the England World Cup match later, so for those avoiding the football, pop in and have a browse! Although I'll be watching it online!

Our pick of the day today is the first bit of merchandise we have in from a local band. If any other bands are interested in having us stock their stuff, pop in and have a chat. This is a 4-track EP by The Hounds, who play "Hard-rockin', beer drinkin', slide-driven barroom rock 'n' roll", apparently. I really love it, especially the cover of She Does It Right. Anyway, the tracklisting is:

1. Same Old Shit
2. Tush
3. Once Bitten Twice Shy
4. She Does It Right

Support local music and pick up a copy. You can find out more about them on their website.
